Supervision

Professional therapists are vulnerable to burnout, so maintaining support is wise and healthy. Supervision supports accountability to the standards of the profession and allows space for processing the personal insights and challenges of the work.

Conscious Connected Breathwork

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a way to explore emotions, trauma and the unconcscious more deeply through one on one guided breathwork technique. The active breath style helps access blocked energies (emotions) in the body which are then released and transformed using the power of this sacred practice. Sessions are 2 hours long to allow for approximately 75 minutes of breathwork and support either side.

My Approach

Every counselling session is different. In an initial session it’s important to acquire information such as current concerns and past functioning. In subsequent sessions this information is used to guide the direction of therapy, working around whatever your needs are in any particular session too.

Counselling is about raising your awareness and exploring creative possibilities for managing the stress. It is not my job to tell you the answers or what to do. Together we hold unconditional space for whatever wants to be processed. The aim of therapy is to expand perception of the 'problem' and empower you with your own wisdom and new ideas.

With children and young people, I like to include the parents/carers as much as possible, and ask that they attend the first session with the child or on their own so that I can develop a good understanding of the concerning behaviours and the system in which the young person is living and operating.

There are no rules about how frequently or how many times anyone should attend counselling.  We work it out together as treatment progresses and based on what works for you.
