I have been devoted to the art and science of wellness for the past 30 years. Through various personal and work experiences I have developed a grounded, holistic approach to health. I am passionate about supporting people to connect to and live from their truth, as this is the place where peace can be found.

How can Counselling Therapy help you?

​

Counselling will help you gain a greater understanding of how your thoughts, emotions and behaviours interact and affect the way you navigate life. Counselling will help you develop different ways of looking at your challenges and creative ways to respond to them. We explore how to communicate more effectively and gain more mastery of your nervous system and emotional states. Most importantly, bringing loving awareness to the vulnerability helps to create more compassion for yourself and others and more ease in your experience. 

 

Sometimes we need more than a friend to talk to...

While family and friends can be really supportive, a therapeutic connection offers an opportunity to talk with someone who is professionally trained and not involved emotionally. This is a non-judgmental, safe and confidential space in which to express yourself and process whatever wants to be seen and heard.

About Me

A bit about my past experience: Early in my career I specialised in youth and family therapy working in both government and private organisations including: Child and Youth Mental Health; Life Without Barriers; Kids Help Line and Parentline. I began my private practice in 2004 and now work with all ages and presentations, but most commonly help clients transform the experience of Anxiety, Depression and Traumatic Stress.

A bit about my philosophy: After many years providing therapy, I believe it's important for us to learn to be kinder to ourselves and others. This means cultiavting awareness and respect for the messages coming from our minds, hearts and bodies. Suffering arises from resistance to what is and sometimes we all need help working through that resistance to find the gifts and wisdom in the experience. We are responsible for our emotions and for the energy we bring to our families, workplaces and homes. We can all empower ourselves with more aware, conscious and mature emotional reactions.

A bit about me: My inspirations include: nature; yoga and meditation; music; creativity; learning; nourishing food; nurturing my home and garden; quality time with friends and being a mother to two wonderful young women. I am committed to ongoing personal and professional growth and regularly support my own wellbeing so that I show up to others with willingness and capacity.
